What is Passivhaus?
Passivhaus is a building standard focused on creating homes that maintain comfortable indoor temperatures while using significantly less energy for heating and cooling. It relies on a combination of high levels of insulation, airtight construction, high-performance windows, reduced thermal bridging and controlled ventilation to help the home perform as a complete system.
For some projects, that may mean pursuing full Passivhaus certification, while others may simply apply these principles in a practical way to improve comfort, efficiency and indoor air quality.
